January 15th is called "Ko-Shogatsu".
"Ko" means small.
On this day, we have some traditional customs.
The famous one is Tondo(or Dondo) matsuri. We burn the sacred rope made with rice straw which we used to welcome Toshi-Gami(Shinto god who celebrates the new year), in order to send the God off with the smoke of Tondo.
The sacred rope called Shime-Nawa.
Our nearby shrine held Tondo festival in their garden and burned those ropes from their neighbors.

昨日は小正月。
小正月と言えば、とんど焼き。
歳神様をお見送りして、今年一年の豊穣と健康などを祈願する行事。
（子どもの頃は「どんど焼き」「どんどん焼き」って言ってました…土地の言葉ですかね。そして、どこかで祭りがあった訳ではなく、自宅で焼いていました…田舎ゆえ？）
氏神さんでとんど祭のお知らせがあったので、しめ縄を持って行ってきました。
このしめ縄ですが、我が家は玄関の上の方には飾るスペースがなく、ドアにマグネットを付けて吊そうとしていたら、どうやらそれは良くないらしい、と聞き、以来、ドア脇のスペースに付けていました。（しめ縄はそれが結界になるので、ドアに直付けすると歳神様が入れないとかなんとか…ややこしや）
One more thing to do on this day is to eat rice porridge with red beans.
But we had sweet bean soup with rice cake in it called "Zenzai" instead.
Just because we love it!
It was good indeed!
そして、小正月といえば小豆粥、と言われますが、我が家はぜんざいを。
もちろん、ただ、食べたいからです〜
ぜんざい大好き。
お鏡さんを飾る訳ではないので、鏡開きもしませんが、お正月の最後のお餅はぜんざいで食べたいのです。
また来年も元気でぜんざいを食べられますように。
