Beautiful autumn moon and traditional sweets

Welcome to my blog post of Kimono dressing tutor Kogikuya, in Sumiyoshi, Osaka.

English follows.

Last night it was called "Ju-San-ya", which means the thirteenth moon in Japan.

We have the custom to view the moon on August 15th (ju-go-ya) and on September 13th of lunar calendar.

This year, Jugoya was on September 10th and of course I viewed the moon on that night.

And the last night, it was a little cloudy but I could see the moon through the thick cloud.

(According to the legend, viewing only either one moon is of bad omen.)

One month ago, I attended a workshop to make traditional Japanese sweets called "Nerikiri" for the moon festival at a lovely cafe in Mino city. It's about three minutes away from Mino station.

(Actually the shop owner is now taking a childcare leave and she rent out the cafe space for like this workshop.)

It was more than ten years ago that I first visited this place and I fell in love with the cafe at first sight.

The very interesting workshop at my favorite cafe!

No reason for me to not joining there!!

Nice and gentle teacher had prepared the base of Nerikiri like this.

The small ball stuff is made of sweet bean paste and colored with natural colorant.

We moved our hands to the detailed instructions of the teacher.

Done! Aren't they so cute!?

Looks still adorable even on my own plate after coming back home.

The instructor Takako-sensei gave all of the participants another type of Japanese sweet "Sasa-Uiro"(sticky rice cake wrapped in bamboo leaves).

It was so good too!😋

Hitoe tsumugi kimono and Nagoya obi.

No Yukata now!

It's getting cooler day by day and maybe I need Awase kimono when I go out next time.

Thank you for your time to read this post till the end.
