Chihiro Iwasaki’s exhibition

English follows.

Well, as I mentioned in my last post, I did visit Mie Prefectural Art Museum on the last Friday.

Make hay while the sun shines!

Actually, I thought about when is the right timing to visit there well.

School kids' summer vacation had just begun and as you can easily imagine the museum would be full of those kids and families soon. So I decided to go right away.

I left my house around 11am and got there around 2pm. It was about three hours traveling to the museum. Kind of tough trip, but still wanted to see her works.

Chihiro Iwasaki is famous for the book illustrations of "Totto-Chan, the little girl at the window" and many children's stories.  Most of her works were in soft and clear watercolors and I like them so much. Her illustrations of children were so heartwarming and touching, and some paintings made me cry. It was really hard to fight back my tears in the museum.

There they had experience zones for the visiters and of course I tried them all!

Please go and find what kind of experience you can do through your own eyes as well as her so many wonderful illustrations.

On the way back to Tsu station, I found a really my kind of cafe and jumped in!

It was a cafe with a Kampo medicines pharmacy. At the cafe they serve some sweets and drinks based on Kampo remedies.

I chose a bowl of "Zenzai"(sweet soup with red beans, black soybeans, mug beans, puffed coix seeds and little rice cakes) and a pot of tea for the beautiful skin! (it contained rosehips, hibiscus and licorice root)  Hope it works! lol

Kimono coordinate.
Ojiya-chijimi kimono and summer Nagoya-obi.
This obi was the way too short for me and couldn’t make it in Otaiko. Somehow managed to make it in Ginza-musubi but no Tesaki coming out of the edges.
Oh well, I'm fine even with such short Obi.
