Today there held Coming of Age ceremonies in many cities in Japan.
Coming of age day is a national holiday to celebrate young people who have turned twenty years old. A few years ago the Japanese law has been changed and now eighteen years olds are regarded as adults. So in some local communities they celebrate twenty year's and some other communities do for eighteen.
I used to do the kimono dressing for those young ladies who would attend the ceremony for several years till two years ago.
It was really a though and d challenging but truly rewarding job at the same time.
今日は成人の日でしたね。
新成人のみなさん、おめでとうございます。
みなさまの新しい門出を心よりお祝い申し上げます。
二年前までは、私も二十歳のお嬢さん方に着付けして差し上げていたのですが、コロナをきっかけに、少しお休みすることにしました。（そして今、会社勤めを始めてしまったので、副業が…）
とっても緊張して、疲れて、大変なお仕事なのですが、それ以上にやりがいのある、素晴らしい仕事だと思います。
着付師のみなさん、本当にお疲れさまでした。
今年はお仕事もしていないので、練習もしておらず、お着物写真もないので…

成人の日と全く関係ないですが（苦笑）
おめでたい繋がりで、お祝いの気持ちを込めて。

This year I didn't do any practice for the kimono dressing service and don't have any pictures of Furisode, the formal kimonos, so I want to share this photo of happy event and festive mood to express my best wishes for their starting new chapter!
