今日の夕方、近くのスーパーへ買い物に行きました。
途中で通りすがりの若者が、『あれ？今日って中止になったんじゃなかったっけ？』と言うのが聞こえました。
彼は隣を歩く友人に話しかけていたのですが、目は私をガン見…
彼が言う、中止になったのは、今週末、近くの小学校や広場で開かれる予定だった夏祭りや盆踊りのことだと思います。
いずれも、直前で中止になっていたので…もちろん、アイツのせい（涙）
で、何故、彼が私を見てそんなことを言ってたのだろうか、というのは、きっと私が浴衣を着ていたから…かも。
お祭りは中止になったはずなのに、浴衣姿…もしかして、やっぱりあるの？
と思われたのでしょう。
幸か不幸か、タイミングが合って、勘違いされたみたいです…なんかすみません…（苦笑）
着物好きな方が増えたとはいえ、特別な日に着るもの、という認識の方が多いですね。
普段に着物を楽しむ人がもっと増えたらいいな〜

小千谷の綿麻に半巾帯

I went out for grocery shopping in the late afternoon today.
On the way to nearby supermarket, a stranger passed by saying "What? I thought that festival had been canceled, but..." He was talking to his company but was looking at me for a while.
Today there would be some summer festivals in our neighbors but all those have been canceled because of Covid-19's at the last minute.
I wore a Yukata as usual, but to him, I looked like someone who was going to take part in a festival, I guess.
Well, I was not trying to make him misunderstand, of course.
Unfortunately, to most people Yukata and Kimono are special clothes for a particular occasion. To me it's just a everyday clothes that my grandparents, great grandparents and many other ancestors used to wear every day.
Hope my daily kimono style makes other people think like me and enjoy kimonos more easily and freely.
