It was the last day of winter, in Japanese old calenter.
And today is the first day of spring, as I wrote yesterday.
昨日も書きましたが、昨日は二月三日、節分でしたね。
そして本日二月四日は立春！春の始まりです。
It has been said that demons would come to attack people when the season changes.
(I guess that when season changes we easily get sick especialy in old times and they thought the cause of the sick were those demons and evil spirits.)
So people drive away the demons with roasted soy beans.
Also people make dedications to gods of shrines in many ways to express their wish or gratitude for the blessings.
At Yasaka shrine in Kyoto, there has been some dedication programs.
季節の変わり目にやってくる鬼を追い払うために豆まきをする訳ですが、神様のご加護を頼んだり感謝の気持ち表して、様々な儀式も行われています。
京都の八坂神社では、いくつか舞の奉納があり、見に行ってきました。
篠笛奏者の佐藤和哉さん。

龍笛の演奏を奉納されました。
Mr. SATO Kazuya, famous Japanese bamboo flute player, dedicated his Ryu-teki(Dragon flute) performance to the god.
And traditional Japanese dance passed down centuries from Heian periods, "Imayou" dance.
そして今様舞の奉納。
今様歌に合わせた、ゆったり優雅な動きが素敵な舞でした。
実は、今回の奉納舞に、知り合いの方が出演されていてこれを知りました。

終わったあとは、豆まきです。

昨日たべた福豆は１パック￥300.
福引の券がついていましたが、行列が長すぎて...午後の予定もあったので止めておきました。

せっかく夫と京都まで来たので、西楼門の前で。
この後は午後の目的地に向けて出発！
