My uncle is a craft potter and a painter.
And he has his own water painting and pottery classes in Wakayama, my hometown.
I have attended his pottery class since the last spring.
A few weeks ago I picked up my own works from the class and brought them back home with me.
私の父方の叔父は、地元で絵画教室と陶芸教室を開いております。
昨年春から、私もそこに通っておりました。
教室はかれこれ20年以上も続いているのに、ようやく、です（汗）
先日、秋頃の教室で作った作品を引き取りに行ってきました。
Flower vases and square plates.
I made those vases as they were not too big for my little bay window.
And made those square plates to match another square dishes which my late mother had made for long time ago.
She also used to go to his pottery class.
("Osechi", Japanese new year dishes I made some years ago.)
I should have go to the class with her.
It must have been really a fun time and it must have made wonderful memories for us.
Can't wait to use my square plates and my mother's square dishes together for the next new year dinner.
上の写真の花瓶と四角いお皿が、私の作品です。作品、と呼ぶのが憚られるほどの仕上がりなのですが。
花瓶は、マンションのささやかな出窓に置いて違和感のないサイズに、角皿は、昔、母が作った陶器のお重に合わせて使えるように。そう思いながら作りました。
亡き母も、かつて、叔父の陶芸教室に通っていました。
その頃に陶芸に興味を持っていれば、一緒に通えたのにね。
ところで、私、昨年末にふと思い付いて、今年のお正月用に黒い塗り盆を買ってしまった…
来年はお重と塗り盆、両方とも使いましょう！
